"To become incapable of experiencing warranted shame or justified humiliation, as unpleasant as such experiences may be, is already to be in some kind of private hell—locked in the prison of one’s own mind with no ability to even see the bars. I would suggest that this might be a worse punishment than federal prison"
Great piece. I wish I could send this to Peter Hotez, but his comments are turned off (as is every narcissists’ who gets more negative feedback than good).
Good piece on what is probably going on in Fauci's mind. When it comes to his taking the 5th in his recent testimony, unfortunately, I had a couple of thoughts that might allow him to justify that and get away with it.
First: The nature of his pardon is unusual, and among the first of its kind. Not only does it give him essentially blanket absolution from everything over a certain stated time period, but there also seems to be some controversy about the nature of the signature (auto-pen) and the process of granting it. He might try to claim, with possible justification, that the validity of his pardon has not yet been positively resolved, and therefore, he cannot speak out on those issues if there is a risk that the pardon could be reversed.
Second: Even if valid, the pardon only grants him absolution from federal crimes. He can still be tried by the states, and could claim to be concerned that any testimony he provides could later be used against him in state court somewhere.
Even if the egotistical psychopath was incarcerated for the remainder of his life he would still believe all us minions are too intellectually bereft to see his genius. At some point Fauci and Josef Mengela will have plenty of time to commiserate.
No, but to borrow a line from another Substacker..."the real ‘boss’ is deeper, darker, and more permanent -- the military, big Pharma, lobbyists, Wall Street, and the government itself. Elect whomever you want; the show goes on. And the deficits continue." (https://www.bonnerprivateresearch.com/p/meet-the-real-boss)

I would suggest that this might be a worse punishment than federal prison, where a man at least has the opportunity to come to terms with the truth about himself before it’s too late."
This is a wonderful epitaph to Fauci's long misbegotten career of dominating an entire branch of science for the sake of gratifying his own ego. Not only did the work journals Fauci kept reveal the scope of his public deceptions, they also reveal how just how petty and foolish his motives were. The man seems to have lost his moral compass in large part because he was so consumed with his own public image.
However, the real value of pursuing truth and justice in the Fauci case isn't to make a wicked man confront awful facts about himself and the consequences of his actions; rather, it is more generally to deter malefactors and would-be malefactors from following in Fauci's footsteps in the future. The rule of law must apply to all; being in a high-ranking government position and having friends in high places shouldn't exempt one from accountability for the harms one causes to be inflicted upon others. Moreover, if existing laws need to be changed to produce more just outcomes in the future, the continuing pursuit of truth in a case like Fauci's is vital for that purpose too, even if it results in no prison time for him.
It is also important to recognize that the truths that still need to be uncovered and the harms that still need to be rectified go way beyond what Fauci himself is responsible for. Other federal agencies besides NIAID (e.g. USAID, DARPA, IARPA, CDC, FDA, PHS) had a hand in discovering and weaponizing the virus and in facilitating the draconian response to the virus, so it is not correct to single out Fauci to be the fall guy for an entire system of federalized medical research and development that has been thoroughly corrupted by its scientific-technical elite, just as President Eisenhower warned us it would become way back in 1960.
Of course, there is also the cozy little ecosystem of academics, non-profits, and commercial enterprises that acted as the cut-outs and pass-throughs for Fauci and the others. For example, the same University of California that fired Dr. Kheriaty from U.C. Irvine also promoted to the rank of Vice Provost the U.C. Davis P.I. of the USAID collaborative research agreement responsible for harvesting dangerous viruses from the wild in over 30 countries, which included the same Wuhan and EcoHealth Alliance researchers isolating the natural coronavirus precursor of SARS-CoV-2 that was later used for performing the gain-of-function work on. She also signed off on the safety of the Wuhan lab's animal handling practices.
A whistleblower from EcoHealth explained that the intelligence community was the moving force behind all its grant proposals, so obviously the complicity of the federal government goes a lot lot deeper than just the monumental ego of Anthony Fauci. Maybe these people could use a bit more self-reflection as they are obliged to plead the Fifth too.
This is a new angle on the many Fauci stories out there currently, because you dug up his reflections on a event you personally were involved in: the first, historic attempt to bring him to legal account. Truly, his “diary entry” about it made me laugh out loud! Thank you for the entertainment, and even more, for the penetrating analysis. God gave you the gift of wisdom in an era when courage really cost.
As hard as I might try (not really), I can't work up even a drop of sympathy or compassion for Anthony Napoleon Fauci. Same for Joseph Biden. Evil exists and they are the personification of it.
“…he served as a cardboard cutout-and now the fall guy-for a biosecurity and pharmaceutical apparatus that leveraged the crisis to achieve its own political and financial aims.”
If only those aims were the whole story. They were definitely a part of it; perhaps even the biggest part. But there were far more nefarious agendas involved as well; such as real-time indexing trials for a witches brew of varied ingredients, exercises in sophisticated, state-of-the-art psycho-spiritual mass manipulation, and control, furthering of the medical, pharmacological, and other scientific research efforts in transhumanism, and a bit of priming for potential future Malthusian depopulation efforts - all for the greater good and survival of the species, of course.
But, God is restraining and revealing this great evil that threatens our nation from every direction, including from within. I don’t know how much we can endure and remain a strong, prosperous, free nation. But I do know that the only hope we have is in God, through the power of the Holy Spirit working in and through revived and transformed hearts and minds.
Well, to coin a phrase from Hillary Clinton back at the Bengazi situation: “what does it matter now anyway”… and if Fauci does ever speak, I guarantee he will say that.
The reference to Icarus (in Greek mythology) is quite apt. Just as the wax in Icarus’ wings was melted by the sun in that ancient story, so public exposure of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s prevarications is “melting” Dr. Fauci’s public image.

No. Prison.
Yes, excellent analysis, Dr. Kheriaty! However, prison for Fauci might be a good exemple for the other conspirators.

Fauci's sins and crimes may be his punishment but this will have little affect on his like minded friends. Maybe 50 years would have some effect.
Never ignore those who were complicite !!!
Excellent post Dr. Kheriaty

Indeed, it will all become clear...but only in the life review that faces all of us.
Even if the egotistical psychopath was incarcerated for the remainder of his life he would still believe all us minions are too intellectually bereft to see his genius. At some point Fauci and Josef Mengela will have plenty of time to commiserate.
Love the title!

I am no psychologist, but I see a pattern in Fauci's behavior leaning toward sociopath.
