They Think We are Stupid, Volume 6
Everything you need to know about our ruling class's opinion of you. As always, these headlines are presented without commentary.
The phrase seems to be catching on. Paul Collits over at the Spectator Australia recently picked up on my tagline. This is from his recent piece criticizing large supermarket chains for gouging their customers and squeezing them for free labor:
Like governments and the ruling class generally, as Aaron Kheriaty says, they think we are stupid. Also, people don’t like being bullied… being nudged. If they know it, or guess it. Supermarkets might go on about customers ‘wanting’ to use the technology for convenience. This is self-serving rubbish. The supermarket chains played ‘look over there’. They squeezed their manned checkouts. De-manned them. Customers thought they could get out quicker by doing the self-serve. That is the only reason their use increased. Oh, and they also cut out their express lanes. This was shape-shifting. Yes, they think we are stupid. And, sadly, many of us are.
Funny to see the phrase making its way into the lexicon of the chattering class. And without further ado…
It's a war. They mock us.
They are hilarious, Aaron! However, your headline IS commentary - all we need!
