Although banning research on gain of function is prudent, I feel we should support research on political "feign of gumption" aka jellied backbone syndrome.

I don't understand why a Governor would say "There was interations within that theme." There WERE iterations. If one can't master basic grammar, what are the odds they can understand epidemiology? And saying "beaches were closed in red states" suggests that a blue governor gets a pass to be stupid. Is that how stupidity works?

I watched the two clips (a second one pops up if you watch the first.) Both excellent. Would that tuition-paying parents reject despotic universities for their children, whatever the glittering prizes they are said to guarantee!

What a disgrace that due to the cowardice of most red-state governors, including Herbert of my own state Utah, Newsome has a chance selling that mendacious point about his being in the mainstream of the politicians.

I've shared your article on David Henderson public health review of the literature with a few high school kids. Somehow the young generation needs to find out that all the public health measures taken were a complete inverse of all previous public health plans. Great job on this interview, I love the "collective blob" reference.

Interestingly, the Bangladesh village mask study shares a place in history with the study that showed a causal link between second-hand smoke and lung cancer when scores of other studies hadn't. That study led to strict rules about smoking, e.g., near building entrances. Authoritarians who want to impose a policy could lower the cost of cherries.
