The irony is absolutely incredible. So many similarities between previous religious power structures, e.g. the Catholic Church or even Islamic extremists. They behave by shutting people up. In a real democracy, we behave by allowing the challenged to present their arguments. That is what it means to have a civilization.
I know YouTube is a private business, yet given the content they do provide, one could see how if not illegal, it is profoundly unethical, sleazy business practice. In a sense, in the world of ideas and debate, this is the ideological equivalent of blindly clearcutting a forest with unique species.
Of course, we are not surprised. They don't care about reality, they care about making a profit the next quarter and making sure their customers stay hooked.
The zealotry is comparable and the "private company" defense doesn't fly. AT&T was a private company and a monopoly that was broken up. Given the uniform government coercion to stifle certain speech, multiple social media companies have acted as a monolith, if not a monopoly. Utilities for electricity and water are private companies, but are not allowed to cut off service to customers of a different religion, people who disagree with their politics, or even people who believe falsehoods and talk about them.
“The censored video on censorship “ would be delightfully absurd if it were in a movie or a book. I try to retain my sense of humor even amidst all this, or they win.

Excellent you kept it out Doc.
One cannot hate what he doesn't fear. Free speech is clearly a threat to some vested interests.
